Where exactly are you?

13 Lightfield Road, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889. That is in Readington Township, Hunterdon County, about ten minutes from Route 78 and roughly twenty minutes from Flemington.

Do you offer full-care horse boarding, or self care?

Full care only. Every horse gets daily feed and hay adjusted to him, a clean stall, turnout, blanketing and seasonal changes, and holding for the farrier and vet. We do not offer self care or partial board, because splitting responsibility for a horse between two people is how things get missed.

How much is board?

It depends on the horse — what he eats, how much turnout suits him, and whether anything needs managing day to day. Rather than publish a range you would have to decode, call us and we will give you a straight figure for your horse.

How much turnout do horses get?

There are 18 turnout pastures across 51 usable acres, which is what lets us group horses sensibly and turn out a horse who needs to go out alone. Turnout is arranged around what suits your horse rather than a fixed rotation.

Do you have an indoor arena?

Yes. An 80' x 120' indoor arena and a 120' x 260' outdoor arena, both with Premier Equestrian footing that is groomed daily, so riding carries on through winter and through August.

Do I need my own horse to take riding lessons?

No. Lesson horses are available for riders who do not own. Leasing is the usual next step for anyone wanting more saddle time before buying.

Do you teach adult beginners?

Yes, and returning riders too — people who rode as teenagers and are starting again in their thirties or forties are one of the most common groups here. Nobody will make you feel late to it.

What should I wear to a first lesson?

Long trousers and boots with a small heel. We can lend you a helmet for the first lesson. Come fifteen minutes early and someone will show you round.

What discipline do you teach?

Hunter, jumper and equitation. Riders build flatwork first, then gymnastics, then courses. If you never want to jump, that is fine and nobody will push you.

Can I bring my own trainer?

Yes. Some boarders ride with Patti, some ride on their own, and some bring in an outside trainer. Talk to us about how you would like it to work.

Do you take horses for training only?

Talk to us about what the horse needs and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right place for it.

Can I come and look round?

Please do. Visits are by appointment so that someone is free to walk you round properly rather than waving at you from the far end of the arena. Call (908) 256-5583.
